I am a freelance editor.

Leeds, MA
Do you have any pets?
Yes, two adorable dogs.
Tell us a little about yourself:
A senior by age, I’m a youthful, energetic, engaging person who strives to make the most of every day. I still work, by choice, and am the grandmother of three young girls. My entire life has been enriched by my many lovely friends and by my experiences volunteering in several countries. I enjoy caring for others and try to bring joy to the people around me.
How many years have you been a UMassFive member?
Ever since I moved to the area, 5 or 6 years ago.
Have you had an especially good experience with UMassFive? Please describe.
I did just last week. I did an overseas transaction at the Credit Union last week, and Tricia helped me through it. A while later she called to tell me that we had to do it a different way, so I went back to the Credit Union and she patiently reprocessed the transaction. We had a delightful conversation while we waited for it to go through. She was professional, truly pleasant, and made me glad to be a member.
What do you do in your free time?
I sing in Rock Voices, the locally renowned community chorus. I also garden, volunteer, walk/hike, read, socialize, visit friends in many places, enjoy watching sports and movies/series, and spend quiet time by myself. I do not play pickleball.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Maybe an archeologist or historic preservationist, but I’m happy with what I do.
What is an accomplishment you’re proud of?
I have rescued and found homes for many lost and abandoned animals. Late one night I rescued six tiny kittens dumped on a dirt road in Vermont. They all survived and were adopted, thanks to Monadnock Kitty Rescue. I also raised more than $30,000 for breast cancer research by doing the three-day, 60-mile walks.
