Newsletter 2019 V2 Article - Artist Presentations
Have you stopped by our Hadley or UMass Amherst Branches recently and noticed new artwork on the walls?

As a part of our ongoing collaboration with the UMass University Museum of Contemporary Art (UMCA), UMassFive has turned a wall in each of our Hadley and UMass Amherst Branches into a “satellite” gallery space for local artists to display their work.

In addition to hanging their work in our branches, we also coordinate with each artist to offer an Artist’s Talk & Presentation event in our Hadley Branch. These opening receptions are free to the public, offering a glimpse into the featured artist’s process and inspiration, a look at more of their work that we couldn’t fit on our walls, and the opportunity to participate in a short Q&A session.

Since the inception of this partnership, six different artists have adorned our walls, delighting and intriguing members and staff alike with imaginative landscapes, bright colors and textures, and new perspectives of the world around us. Our most recent artist is Angela Zammarelli, whose work is currently on display at our Hadley Branch. Read more about Angela in our Member Spotlight.
