Easily Move Money with Linked External Accounts
Transferring money to and from other financial institutions is now just as simple as moving money between your UMassFive accounts. To get started in Online or Mobile Banking:
- Go to Make a Transfer (or Transfers on Mobile).
- Select Add External Account.
- Follow the prompts to either:
- Securely log in to your other bank for instant setup, or
- Manually enter your account and routing number.
If you choose the manual option, you’ll need to confirm small test deposits. This process can take up to three days. Once your external accounts are linked, you can manage them under External Accounts in the Transfers tab. This is also where you’ll confirm test deposit amounts if needed. After setup is complete, you can easily schedule one-time or recurring transfers by selecting the account from a dropdown menu.
Connect Accounts to Your Dashboard for Easy Monitoring
If you like to budget or simply want to keep an eye on all your accounts in one place, you can also connect external accounts to your dashboard for viewing only. Instead of going to Transfers:
- Scroll to the bottom of your account list in Online or Mobile Banking.
- Click Connect.
- Log in to the account you want to add.
Once connected, you’ll be able to see balances and recent transactions from your other financial institutions right inside your UMassFive Online & Mobile Banking. This information can be used to inform financial tools like savings goals, budgeting, and financial forecasting—without logging into multiple websites.
Note: Dashboard connections are for viewing only. You cannot move money through these accounts unless they are set up separately as external transfer accounts.
