At UMassFive, supporting small businesses is more than a priority, it’s a passion! That’s why this past fall, we once again partnered with UMass Athletics for our second annual Small Business Spotlight contest, which is designed to celebrate local businesses making a meaningful impact.
After receiving an incredible response, we’re excited to announce this year’s grand prize winner: Amherst Cinema. This independent, nonprofit arts and education center was recognized for its vital role as a cultural cornerstone that brings people together, supports downtown Amherst, and enriches the region through exceptional film and community programming.
The winner was announced at the final UMass Football home game on November 25, just ahead of Small Business Saturday. Amherst Cinema received an exclusive $10,000 value advertising package, currently being used to promote the business at UMass Hockey and Basketball games at the Mullins Center this season.
