Credit Score Manager Terms and Conditions
Overview and Purpose
By navigating beyond the Credit Score Manager tab in Digital Banking and continuing past the “Agree and Continue” button—or by otherwise accessing or using the Credit Score Manager third-party content—you agree to instruct UMassFive College Federal Credit Union (“UMassFive”) to periodically obtain your credit report from third party service provider(s) to use it for the following purposes:
- To display your credit score information to you for educational purposes and to help you understand how financial transactions affect your credit score;
- To confirm your identity, such as identifying potential fraudulent transactions in your name; and
- To offer our products and services to you.
UMassFive will use the information already on file (including your name, Social Security number, birthdate, and address) to verify your identity without any additional action required on your part.
Authorization to Access Your Credit Files
By clicking on the “Subscribe,” “Upgrade,” or similar button and signing up for the Credit Score Manager, you are providing written instructions under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as amended, to Array—a third-party service provider to UMassFive—and its employees, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, third-party data sources and suppliers, and all national credit reporting agencies.
You authorize these parties to access your credit files from each national credit reporting agency and to exchange information about you with those agencies for the purpose of verifying your identity and providing the Credit Score Manager services to you.
About Your Credit Score
When your credit score is displayed, it is a composite score designed by a third party. Viewing your score through Credit Score Manager does not affect your actual credit score.
If you apply for additional products or services (including extensions of credit), UMassFive may need to obtain a new credit report, which may affect your actual credit score. Additional authorization will be requested at that time, if required.
Understanding Your Score
The score displayed in Credit Score Manager is your VantageScore® 3.0 score.
Each of the three credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—uses different models to calculate credit scores and collects data independently. Because of this, scores may vary among bureaus and between providers.
Other financial institutions or services may use different scoring methods, such as FICO® or alternative versions of VantageScore®. Your lender (including UMassFive) may use a different scoring model, meaning your score may differ from the one shown here. However, your general credit risk level is often similar even when numbers vary.
For some consumers, the risk assessment of VantageScore 3.0 could vary, sometimes substantially, from a lender's score. If the lender's score is lower than your VantageScore 3.0, it is possible this difference can lead to higher interest rates and sometimes credit denial.
Score Updates
Your score becomes eligible for an update every 31 days. To refresh your score, log in to Digital Banking at or after 31 days from your last update.
Eligibility and Cancellation
This service is available only to consumer/retail digital banking members.
For members enrolled in the basic plan, you may cancel your enrollment at any time by navigating to "Manage Account" and then selecting the "Unenroll" option.
For members enrolled in the paid premium plan, you must first downgrade to the basic plan, and then proceed with the unenrollment process, as outlined above.
