What brought you to the Valley?
The culinary options in Western Mass were exciting.
What do you like most about working with a local Credit Union?
Not only does it have a network of people that connect you further to the community, but I like seeing local dollars from our companies supporting the local residents. By supporting a local financial institution, my dollar stays in the community for longer.
What do you want people to know about your business?
With every pouch of sauce that I sell, a portion of the proceeds is contributed to a scholarship at Holyoke Community College for culinary students. I remember when I was a student, I had a difficult time affording the chef’s uniform and knife kit required. It feels great to let those students know that they are seen, and that they won’t fall between the cracks due to their financial situation.
Is there any advice you would give to someone starting their own business?
Have a notepad and a calculator. A notepad because if you can’t articulate your vision through words, it will be hard to articulate your vision to your customers. A calculator because if it doesn’t work out on a calculator, it’s not going to work out in real life. You have to know your numbers. Is there anything else you want people to know?
