The speed of technological innovation has never been faster and it’s clear that our technology must match the high standards you expect from us.

New Features

Over the years, we've heard what you, our members, are looking for in your online banking experience. We've kept track of your pain points and honest feedback, noted what you love, and carefully vetted new features that compliment and enhance the ease of use you've come to expect. It's been a long time coming, and we've had such a hard time keeping this a secret.

One Great Experience - At your PC or on the go

Gone are the days of leveraging your mobile browser to see certain features. Your mobile app should hold all the same power and features as logging in on a computer.

View your statements on our mobile app, open new accounts, flag fraudulent transactions, and so much more. The best part? Your scheduled payments, your account nicknames, your direct deposit, your BillPay - everything you've already set up in Online Banking - will still be there when we turn on the extra features.

Member-to-member payments

Families, friends, and business owners that bank with us shouldn't have a hard time sharing money without fees (and they certainly shouldn't need to download an extra app that takes days to transfer while wealthy shareholders make quick trades and profit from your on-hold funds).

We're thrilled to expand Zelle access to our Commercial members, making the most secure method of sharing funds with those you trust simple. We're also introducing member-to-member payment that keeps splitting the bill with your new roommate all safely within UMassFive's core system without ever sharing account numbers.

Getting business done better

For our local small business owners, access to cash flow tools like analysis reports, aggregation, bills due, managing sub users, and more has historically come with a price tag from third party apps. We're integrating all of this into our commercial Online Banking at no cost to your business so you can get the insights you need to keep your business growing.

The full picture

You've asked, we listened. Financial education tools don't have to be limited to meeting with our Money Guides (though we do understand if you prefer to).

Budget and see where your money is actually going, set savings goals and visualize your progress, categorize, plan, and achieve all in one place. You'll have the option to check your credit score anytime, and even securely link accounts you hold at other institutions so you're truly looking at your whole financial picture.

Security you can be certain of

We're using this opportunity to bring you the latest and greatest security for your accounts, including self-serve transaction disputes, more options for secure ways to contact us including live chat, and rolling out new ways to receive secure alerts - so you can have absolute confidence that communications are legitimate.

While you won't need to download anything new, and your Mobile Banking app will automatically change from a purple icon to white with a purple star, this does mean that we'll be asking everyone to sign in again when the updates are live in order to set up Multifactor Authentication.

It is important that your email or phone number are current to receive these codes. So feel free to send us a secure message through Online Banking, call our Contact Center, or simply stop by anytime in the next few months to avoid the frustration of discovering your cell phone from 2012, or your childhood email  just got that security code. (And don't worry, you will have every opportunity to let us know what sort of messages you want to receive when you share these details with us.)

FAQ

Is there any risk I will lose access to my accounts like that Peoples' Bank horror story I read in the news?

Even if your 2FA code goes to an old email, you will be able to call our Contact Center, and have them generate a code to get you past that first login. But it shouldn't, because you're reading this, and you're definitely gonna update your personal contact info with us by sending a secure message via your Online Banking right now and save everyone queue headaches.

Will my recurring payments / bill pay / scheduled transfers etc. break?

Nope. Things will look a little different when you first log in, but we've put a major focus on ensuring that we can give you new features without interrupting to your day-to-day transactions.

What you can do to ensure you're ready

Make sure your contact information is current, otherwise, bank as usual, and get excited. Because we're excited to give you so many more tools to improve and maintain your financial health.
