What is your name?
Nicole Coakley

What is your occupation?
Executive Director of Gun Violence Elimination Alliance (G.V.E.A.)

Where do you live?
Springfield, MA

Have you had an especially good experience with UMassFive? Please describe.
Yes. Signing my family up for their own accounts was not an easy task, but everyone at the Mercy Branch took their time and made sure everyone’s online accounts were working and that our debit cards were all set. We all left with smiles on our faces!

What do you do in your free time?
I love volunteering, so in my free time I’m always reaching out to organizations and community members to see how I can help and get involved.

What is your favorite food?
Fried crab

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Becoming an immigration attorney

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have three items with you, what would they be?
Pen & notebook, picture of my family, and my dog.

What is an accomplishment you’re proud of?
I would most definitely say being a mother, but having the courage to run for the Ward 5 City Council open seat is something I’m very proud of, especially being a woman of color trying to change the dynamics of leadership in my community.
