I’m a Master Barber Stylist and proud owner of Monty’s Unisex Barber Shop & Salon in Springfield, MA. I specialize in both traditional and modern cuts, offering a range of services to meet the diverse needs of my clients.

Tell us a little about yourself:
I’ve been in business for almost 40 years, and I come from a family of six. I learned my independence and responsibility from going to the stores around my neighborhood, which drove me to see myself as an entrepreneur from an early age. I set up my first lemonade stand at College Street Park at the age of eight.
How did you hear about UMassFive?
I first heard about UMassFive through my good friend Julius Lewis (a UMassFive Board Member), who spoke highly of the organization. He also took the time to explain to me the many advantages of being a member of UMassFive, which really piqued my interest.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
Puerto Rico, that’s my spot.
Have you had an especially good experience with UMassFive?
I’ve been a proud member of UMassFive for nearly five years. From the very beginning I was drawn to the organization because I wanted to be a part of a family-oriented company. A company that not only broadens my horizons but also offers exciting opportunities for the future. I am grateful for everything UMassFive has provided, and I am truly proud to be a part of this incredible family.
What is your favorite food?
Prime rib with salad. Whenever I walk into 350 Grill, they call me, “Same Thin” because I always order the same classic, no-fail meal.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have three items with you, what would they be?
My Bible, my mother’s picture, and my favorite drink: a Piña Colada.
