So what is Compass?

Compass is a new program at UMassFive where exceptional staff are offered the opportunity to earn their Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor designation through their enrollment in the Credit Union National Association’s Financial Counseling Certification Program (CUNA FiCEP). Once staff members have completed this in-depth program, they become members of our Compass team of “Money Guides”. The idea behind this certification sprang from an awareness that many of our members are interested in this sort of personalized guidance for a myriad of reasons, and have asked questions that fall somewhere in-between formal financial coaching with debt management services, and the Financial and Investment Services provided by our CFS* Financial Advisors.

Whether you’re uncertain if a loan or a credit card makes the most sense for your future plans; you want to discuss which savings account is going to help earn you a better yield for your goals; you’re just starting out, and want to understand the best way to manage your money and build up your credit score; or you’re finding more of your regular spending is ending up on your credit card and want to know some debt reduction options, our Money Guides are available to help you make informed financial decisions.

You can schedule a conversation with one of our Money Guides either in person at one of our branch locations, or via Zoom. Schedule an Appointment to select a time that is convenient for you.
