About Francesca DenHartog and Valley Fabrics

Founded in 2004, Valley Fabrics has long been a destination for the quilting and sewing community. After many years in Northampton, Massachusetts, the business relocated to Whately, where it continues to focus on fostering creativity, connection, and community.

They cater to quilters, crafters, and clothing creators with a modern selection of cotton, knits, linens, rayons, canvas, and more. They also offer books, notions, patterns, fabric precuts, quilt kits, thread, and floss. Their services include classes, events, long-arm quilting, machine repair, and BERNINA machines and accessories.

Owner Francesca DenHartog, a lifelong sewist and former US Lacrosse Team member, brings her graphic design background and love of color to the shop. Inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2010, Francesca often jokes, "Quilting is a contact sport!"
